|Who are the Bournemouth Parent Carer Forum?
We would like to introduce ourselves to you. BPCF are a group consisting of parents/carers of children/young person with various disabilities.
We would like to encourage parents/carers and professionals to engage with us around information and consultations work. We would like to form a working group as we are always being approached to formulate some research around transitions, support, EHCP’s post 16-25 (college), Local Offer and CAHMS, Carers United have contacted us with a short question on carers assessment, just to name a few, please email us on email@example.com.
We have some exciting news the BPCF now have a discount card for parents who live in Bournemouth this is called BPCF Max Card it’s offers discounts to over 3,000 attractions throughout the UK. Just to name a few venues Legoland and Go Ape. (Please note this is different from the max card from Dorset Xchange) It’s has a small cost of £3.00 for two years, plus a bonus of the diner card which also offers money off coupons. If anyone is interested in buying one we have a venue that parents can come and collect which is Tesco, Community Room, Riverside Avenue, Bournemouth we are there on a Thursday, from 10.00 to 12.00 or attend one of our monthly themed workshops from 6.30 to 8.30 (term-time)
We regularly hold weekly information coffee mornings from 10.00 am to 12.00 (term-time only) usually a professional in some capacity will be on hand to advise/signpost, along with our monthly evening bespoke workshops, please see below.

These run from 6.30 to 8.30 pm. We have linked in with the Learning Disabilities Team who are helping us run the above workshops.
Please note 23rd November workshop* We will be holding a short discussion/presentation on the Local Offer with Tina Sweetland from Bournemouth Borough Council, Tina will be talking about how the Local Offer came about, what the plans are and asking parents for comments about what they'd find most useful to have on the LO website and explaining to parents on how they could go onto the Local Offer website to leave further feedback - either about what they knew - that hasn't yet been added - or what they want to see more of - or what they also don't like. So please come along.
Activities at Linwood and Springwood: open to all children with a Statement or EHCP and their families.

The Umbrella Group
We are a parent led support group, for parents of children and young adults with ASD.
We are known as The Umbrella Group and we meet once a month.
Venue Portfield School, The Pool room, Parley Lane, Hurn, Christchurch BH23 6BP
On 4th Saturday of the month
Time 10am -12 noon
Please note these meetings are for parents only.
We hope to see you for support, laughter, moaning and tears!
