Sport Premium

Primary 'Sport Premium' Funding

The new primary ‘sport premium’ funding for primary schools has been designed to help schools in a variety of ways. Some of the outcomes we hope to meet through the ‘sport premium’ funding are:  

• Increased opportunities for competitive sport.  

• Improved quality of teaching and learning in Primary Physical Education, including more dynamic exercise in lessons.  

• Improvements in the quality and breadth of PE and sporting provision, including “increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performances levels they are capable of’

 

Spending plan for 2016 -2017

 

£9,180

 

  • Paying for specialist sports teachers to work with all teachers within the school.
  • Specialist sessions include:

 

Autumn Term

  • Foundation - Specialist Gymnastics Coaching by Gemma Coles (Once per week x 14 weeks)

  • Year 1 - Specialist Gymnastics Coaching by Gemma Coles (Once per week x 14 weeks)

  • Year 2 – Specialist Games and Movement Skills Coaching by James Wilson (Once per week x 14 weeks)

  • Year 3 – Specialist Games and Movement Skills Coaching by James Wilson (Once per week x 14 weeks)

 

Spring Term

  • Foundation - Specialist Games and Movement Skills Coaching by James Wilson (Once per week x 12 weeks)

  • Year 1 - Specialist Games and Movement Skills Coaching by James Wilson (Once per week x 12 weeks)

  • Year 2 - Specialist Gymnastics Coaching by Gemma Coles (Once per week x 12 weeks)

  • Year 5 – Specialist Games and Movement Skills Coaching by James Wilson (Once per week x 12 weeks)

    Year 6 – Specialist Cricket Coaching by Dorset Boys County Cricket (Once per week x 12 weeks)

     

    What impact is it having?

    Every child across the school will receive specialist teaching from highly qualified teachers.

    The staff will gain more skills and confidence in their PE teaching for future practice.

    The children will benefit in the short and long term.
